This archive includes five black and white movie stills and one colorful movie still. Cotton Comes to Harlem is a 1970 American neo-noir action comedy thriller film co-written and directed by Ossie Davis, starring Godfrey Cambridge, Raymond St. Jacques, and Calvin Lockhart. The film, later cited as one of the earliest examples of the blaxploitation genre, is based on Chester Himes' novel of the same title. Karen Brame notes that "Cotton Comes to Harlem presented a diversity of themes, including (truncated)
