Moderate toning, horizontal and vertical fold lines, light soiling at top and bottom edges. Rare. $1,800. * Smith, "a wretched-looking object," beat Eleanor Lawrence to death and was arrested after assaulting several others. He put up an insanity defense at trial, which was unsuccessful; the jury convicted him of murder and he was executed on March 27, 1849. This broadside appears to be unrecorded.
