Inspired by the 1953 Ian Fleming novel, a spoof of the then-current James Bond films, made when producer Charles K. Feldman, who had the rights, could not come to an agreement to create a film parallel to those produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman at Eon Productions. Nominated for an Academy Award.
