§ A superb example of a full sheet of Dutch gilt paper, used for endpapers or (later) bindings on chapbooks, signed at the bottom edge PAUL REYMUND NURNBERG NO. 19. It is a floral diamond pattern on uncolored paper, using shades of blue and orange applied by stencil, with gold and raised gold applied by dusting, and printed from woodblocks or engraved metal rollers, sometimes followed by daubing or stenciling after gilding -- creating the effect of fine brocade. This example was the one selected for the Grolier Club exhibition (truncated)
