Philadelphia: Penn Publishing, 1922. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition. Illustrated by E.W. Kemble. Modest drink ring on front board, some overall wear, near very good in good or better dust jacket with some chipping and soiling. Inscribed by the Tennessee-born white author using her pseudonym: "For Lilly and Walter With dear love from Dorothy Dix. Christmas 1922." Sequel to *Mirandy*, are dialect recitations of folklore, wisdom, and humor delivered by a stereotypical black "mammy". Gilmer also wrote a highly successful syndicated newspaper advice column under her pseudonym. Scarce in jacket and especially signed.
