In original cloth covered board photo album held by cord with gilt lettering "Photographs". Album measures 10" x 8.25". Photos are clear and bright and measure 5.75" x 3" with one Victorian era portrait at the beginning measuring 9.5" x 6". It appears to be a traveler's photo journal with the first few images depicting a desertous landscape filled with saguaro cacti and yucca trees to small country farms, to mission style buildings and Latin jazz bands. Amidst the first portion is a photo of the newly constructed Coolidge Dam in Arizona, built between 1924-1928. Amongst wood built shacks on a dirt highway is a photo of a family with their wagon pulled by two donkeys in rural Texarkana. Images begin to pass through back-country roads, an African American man is seen sitting on the steps of his home with a chicken roaming in the foreground. Nearing the end, the album shows Antebellum architecture likely in Louisiana or Florida before showing a group of people arriving by more subtropical region with ports filled with ships and fishing boats as well plane to the harbor of Havana, Cuba. Images in Cuba range from town life on the streets, to a view of the city and a clear shot of 16th century fortress, Morro Castle. Overall very good condition.
