[Bromall, PA]: A.F. Brown, 1993. Paperback. 57 pages. Light blue printed wraps. Very Good. Errata slip inserted. Detailed discussion of several court cases, budget documents, and articles in which the author accuses the Barnes Foundation, its trustees, and especially its director, Richard Glanton, of financial foul play, mismanagement, and breach of public trust. The foundation oversaw the art collection of Albert C. Barnes which included works by renowned artists (Renoir, Cezanne, Picasso, Matisse, among others) whose display and care were bound to its deceased owner’s eccentric will. The collection was managed in large part by a local HBCU, Lincoln University, starting in the 1950s and included an educational program. Among the issues critiqued in the pamphlet are plans for a traveling art exhibition and numerous costly repairs to the foundation’s properties. (Inventory #: 294491)
