Loosely inserted is a typed note of thanks, unsigned and with the addressee left blank. Perhaps this was a presentation copy that was never presented. A collection of birthday wishes, reminisces, tributes and poetry from Sarton's friends and colleagues, including the first publication of Seamus Heaney's Poem 'A Wave from the Distance'.
