by Bonaparte, Napoleon
Three CDVs of Napoleon Bonaparte. One of the CDVs is a close-up portrait of the Napoleon from Paul Delaroche's Napoleon at Fontainebleau. There is also a printing of Napoleon with child in his study, which is from an engraving by Alexandre Vincent Sixdeniers. The last CDV is from a lithograph by Johann Jakob Frey. He is pictured with this military uniform, hat, sword, and appears to be holding a decree or manuscript. In the background are some of his Mamluk bodyguards. While these CDVs are undated, the format was popular from the 1860s-early 1880s. These 3 images were made from famous paintings since Napoleon passed away before the invention of photography. All 4 in very good condition overall. All three CDVs have pencil captions on verso.
