Dark brown cloth stamped in gilt. Contemporary, engraved, armorial bookplate on front pastedown ("Alice de V. Clarke"), light wear at spine ends, faint crease on the front cover, near fine. Clarke was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, and a descendant of Judge John Lowell, who was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and Continental Congress. (Inventory #: 518719)
