Illustrated with a frontispiece and three plates by F. Graham Cootes. Brown cloth stamped in black and gilt. Binding is very slightly tanned on the spine, edges of textblock and endpapers are moderately foxed, a very good or better copy. A first edition thus, the first illustrated edition, and with title changed to *Alexander's Bridges* *Crane* A5. a.i.(e): the American edition was published as *Alexander's Bridge*.
