signed first edition Wraps
1968 · Los Angeles
by Bradbury, Ray
Los Angeles: Alert Duplicating Service, 1968. First Edition. Wraps. Fine. Signed by Ray Bradbury on the front cover, above his printed name.
A one-act playscript adapted by Bradbury (1920-2012) from his short story of the same name. While this story, about a writer who calls himself Charles Dickens, was adapted successfully for television in 1981, the play seems to have been produced only twice. According to the Bradbury Companion, it was performed at the Actors Studio West (perhaps only as a staged reading) and then again at Rio Hondo Junior College in 1969. It does not appear to have been published in any of Bradbury's play collections, and he did not write the TV adaptation.
Quarto: [1], 53, [1] leaves. Printed on standard white stock and bound with brads in yellow cardstock wrappers. A fine copy. (Inventory #: 74419)
