First edition, second issue of a timeless tale of kitten and mouse, one of only two Beatrix Potter titles published in wallet binding form. Frederick Warne and Co. intended to publish three new Beatrix Potter titles in special wallet bindings for the Christmas season of 1906, but only two made it to the press, one of which is MISS MOPPET. Like many innovative marketing pushes, the accordion-fold format of the wallet bindings came with unforseen challenges: Potter recalled in later correspondence how "the shops sensibly refused to stock them because they got unrolled, and so bad to fold up (truncated)
