Optimistic report on recent activities by the short-lived conservative party which saw itself as a classical liberal alternative to the socialism of the Congress Party. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru criticized the party as a relic of "the middle ages of lords, castles and zamindars;" in fact four of its 44 MPs at this time were former princes. (Inventory #: 273321)
