François-Adolphe Loève-Veimars (1801-1854) was a French wirter and diplomat who wrote for Figaro and on politics for the Revue des Deux Mondes. His translations of German authors such as E.T.A. Hoffmann, Heinrich Heine, Wieland and van der Velde influenced French literary circles. Dispatched as a diplomat to Russia by Louis Philippe, he was later ambassador to Baghdad, Caracas and Lima.
