London, Nd(1921): Priv. Print. For The Navarre Society Limited. Octavo. Vol. I, 474 pages, Vol. II, 462 pages. illustrated by W. Heath Robinson, 1872-1944 . Gargantua and Pantagruel is a satire ridiculing the educational and religious establishment of his day. W. Heath Robinson had already become one of the finest illustrators of books including his own Bill the Minder (1912), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1914) and this fine edition of Rabelais (1921). The English translation was begun by Sir Thomas Urquart and finished by Pierre Motteau.
