SUBERB COPY OF ENGLISH FAIRY TALES - AN UNCOMMON ARTHUR RACKHAM ILLUSTRATED BOOK. This is the AMERICAN FIRST EDITION of 1918.
SIXTEEN BEAUTIFUL COLOR PLATES WITH CAPTIONED TISSUE GUARDS BY RACKHAM as well as MANY LOVELY B/W DRAWINGS WITHIN THE TEXT. Thick, large, 8vo, red gilt cloth, top edge tinted yellow, decorated endpapers, 363 pgs followed by 4 additional pgs of advertising . This is a very clean, tight copy with light edge wear, at top edge of spine there is 1/8" neatly repaired closed tear - not affecting look or strength of the book. There was a flower put inside pages 326/327 - no longer present but there is offset from that (truncated)
