Grace Drayton was one of the first women cartoonists, and found great success with her comic strips and advertising art; she was also a founder of the Plastic Club, a Philadelphia art group organized and run by women. She is best known for her chubby-faced children characters, an aesthetic which can be seen in the BABY BEARS.
