Baumgarten 68. A Canadian-born American, Seymour Eaton (1859-1916) was an author, journalist, editor, and publisher and is credited with coming up with the term "Teddy Bear". He authored a series of children's books called the Roosevelt Bears and The Traveling Bears series followed, appearing first as a series in daily newspapers. While the Edward Stern & Company, Inc. is listed holding the copyright in 1908, no bibliography or example can be found showing they published any of The Traveling Bears series, Stern was the publisher of the Roosevelt Bears. The first eight books of the series appearing on the rear dust jacket were all published by Barse and Hopkins between 1915 and 1917, with one last book, The Traveling Bear Detectives published in 1921.

The Teddy Bears have great, fun adventures all told in rhyming verse and accompanied by expressive illustrations.
