by Xiao Qingyun 蕭慶雲 (C.Y. Hsiao)
n.p., 1984. Paperback. 289p., paperback, very good, with later gift inscription in Chinese. Text mostly in Chinese, with substantial English. Collected writings by and about Hsiao, a former transit official in Republican China who received the Medal of Freedom during the Truman administration. Several items in the collection are related to his son's efforts to get a replacement for the medal, the original having been lost during the Cultural Revolution in China. Based on the contents, he appears to have settled in the Washington DC area, with children on the west coast. An earlier volume of his writings had been published five years earlier.
