It tracks the growth of the city - its mills, architecture, notable events, famous inhabitants and, of course, the whaling industry, to which 20 pages are devoted, with text, vintage photos, and artwork by Clifford Ashley. Fine condition in illustrated green wrappers, the whole bound in green buckram with gold lettering. Another copy, bound in original wrappers only. Each. Folio, 37.5 cm. 80, (2) pp. b/w line and halftone ills. (Inventory #: 42755)
