Boston: Alfred Mudge and Son, 1873. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. Small quarto. 432pp. Light binding wear, light even offsetting on endpapers and some scattered foxing throughout, a sound, very good or a bit better copy. Not illustrated, but meant to accompany a collection of stereoscopic views. The author in his introduction—"Photography and the Stereoscope"—is enthusiastic about both the wonders of the world, and photography and stereoscopy's abilities to bring those wonders into the home or classroom. In the preface, he is quite honest about the fact that this work has been mostly compiled from books in the Boston Public Library. About half (truncated)
