Barre: Barre Publishers. 1968. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Twenty-Six color lithographs by Spruance housed in blue cloth clamshell box, the latter with spotting and scratches. Laid in a pouch at the front is a gilt-stamped booklet in brownish gray wras with 14 unnumbered pages of Thompson notes + 26 numbered pages with excerpts from Melville's text, all ornate. The lead lithograph shows a few signs of wear, but the others are near fine with very slight curve to the edges (from the clamshell box). Very good set. ; Folio 17 x 23"; 26; 40 pp .
