Fifty ink or pencil vignettes of 38 celebrated actors and musicians, sketched during live performance, many with facsimiles of the artists' signatures. Wraps with highlight color over textblock of heavy ivory stock.

The album shows liquid stains at all binding edges, reaching into about half of the later vignettes without obscuring the images.

Eduardo Vernazza, a Uruguayan painter and art journalist, made "live" drawings-à la courtroom sketch-of the world's most celebrated performing (truncated) artists in action. Subjects include Marian Anderson, Arturo Toscanini, Arthur Rubinstein, Igor Stravinsky, Louis Jouvet, Pablo Casals, Yehudi Menuhin, and many South American stars. Despite the unfortunate liquid stains, the album provides a remarkable record of stances, costumes, and characterizations from the mid 20th century for its most renowned actors and musicians.
