Loosely based on the 1810 novella "Michael Kolhaas" by Heinrich von Kleist. A tale of revenge, following a rancher who refuses to sell his ranch to a greedy land baron. The landowner slowly eats away at Cusack's livelihood, charging tolls, abusing his horses, and later killing his wife.
Set in Wyoming just prior to its statehood, shot on location in Alberta.
