New York City: The Charlton Company, 1914. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. Volume 5, in original publisher’s boards, of Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s groundbreaking monthly magazine, *The Forerunner*, acquired from Gilman’s estate. Tall octavo. pp. 336, [4 (contents)]. Illustrated terra cotta cloth stamped in black. Light scattered staining to the edges of the boards, modest toning to the outer edges of the endleaves, near fine.
Written entirely by Gilman, The Forerunner featured serialized novels, short fiction, essays, articles, and verse; and was published by her with the aim of stirring one to action “upon the Progress of Women”.
