A nice of this play, inspired by a true story, that was the basis for the 1993 film directed by Fred Schipisi, with a screenplay by Guare, and featuring a splendid cast that included, among others, Stockard Channing (reprising her role from the play), Will Smith (in an early, dramatic role), Donald Sutherland, and Ian McKellen.
