Original polished cherry wood German stereoscopic viewer with a complete set of 150 stereoscopic photographs (stereoviews) depicting the most picturesque views of Saxony and Northern Bohemia (Series I to IV), and of the town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Saxony, and its vicinity (Series V to VI). Both the stereoscope and the photographs are housed in their original polished cherry wood box adorned with two gilt metal clasps.

The captioned stereoviews (3 1/2 x 6 3/4") are laid in their six original (truncated) printed carboard boxes (25 per box and per series)

Through its two lenses set apart (approximately the space between the eyes), the stereoscope allows the viewing of stereoscopic pairs of separate images, depicting left-eye and right-eye views of the same scenes, as single three-dimensional images.

Minor and sporadic tiny scratches to box. The back of the stereoscope seems to be missing two small wooden pieces, whose purpose is unknown, as the stereoscope is in perfect working condition.
