First and original Author's autograph edition, No. 460 of 1,000 copies signed by Lindbergh and G.P. Putnam. This is Lindbergh's autobiographical account of his famous solo trans-Atlantic flight from New York to Paris in May, 1927. It was published just under two months after his completion of that famous flight.

On September 20, 1927, Charles Lindbergh, the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, arrived in Los Angeles on the Spirit of St. Louis as part of a nationwide tour. For seven hours enormous crowds gathered to honor him at the Los Angeles Coliseum before being the guest of honor at a banquet at the Ambassador Hotel, where the chef produced a very special meal, including cakes in the form of Lindbergh's airplane, the Spirit of St. Louis.
